Quick answers for choosing and caring for teak bath and spa pieces.
Choose shower benches or stools for their stated seating use, mats for the shower floor, caddies for the tub or sink, and shelves or towel holders for storage. Hampers, shower footrests, toilet footstools and spa steps have distinct roles. Follow the family guide, then check the chosen model’s dimensions and intended setting.
Teak contains natural oils that contribute to moisture and decay resistance. Wet-use suitability depends on the selected design and its intended setting. Leave clearance for water to drain and the teak to dry. Rinse pieces used under running water before first use to remove teak dust or storage residue. Wood-care guidance does not apply to fabric sacks or other materials.
Measure shower and bathroom clearance, tub width, shelf height, towel storage needs, and step or bench footprint before choosing.
Clean teak as needed for its use: occasional dusting or wiping for dry bathroom storage; mild soap, water and a soft-bristle brush when cleaning is necessary. Rinse as appropriate and allow to dry. Wall-mounted pieces can dry in place. ARB recommends no added teak oil, sealants or finishing products. Outdoor teak may develop a silver-grey patina. Follow separate care instructions for fabric components. See our teak-care guidance.
