Which bench works best beside an entryway door?

Compare full length and depth with the available wall and floor space, then check seat height and door swing. Allow room to sit, stand and walk past the bench without relying on the collection image to judge its size.

Does every mudroom bench include shoe storage?

Choose a model whose listing specifically includes a lower shelf if storage beneath the seat matters. Measure the shelf opening against the shoes or objects you plan to place there; shelf clearance varies by model.

Can a teak bench handle damp shoes or clothing nearby?

Teak’s natural oils contribute to moisture resistance. Use the bench according to its product guidance, wipe up wet dirt when needed and allow the wood and floor beneath it to dry. Do not assume every design has the same intended setting.

Does an entryway bench need regular oiling?

ARB recommends relying on teak’s own oils, without added teak oil, sealants or finishing products. For mostly dry indoor use, dust or wipe as needed. Clean only when necessary with mild soap, water and a soft-bristle brush, then allow to dry. See our teak-care guidance.
