How do I measure for a custom teak mat?
Measure inside the shower base on all sides. Subtract ¼ inch (6.35 mm) from the total width and from the total depth, rather than from each side, so the mat can be removed for cleaning. Enter those finished dimensions in inches on the custom mat page to see its price. Its overall height is 1¼ inches (about 3.2 cm); check door and drain clearance, and confirm uncertain dimensions with ARB Teak before ordering.
How does a teak mat help water drain?
The elevated, slatted design lets water pass through and supports airflow underneath. Place the mat on a flat surface where it sits securely without rocking, and lift it as needed to let the base dry. Use normal care on wet surfaces.
How do I care for the natural teak?
Clean as needed with mild soap and water and a soft-bristle brush, then rinse and allow to dry. Lift the mat as needed so the shower base underneath can dry. Teak may naturally change colour over time. Rely on the wood’s own oils; ARB recommends no added teak oil, sealants or finishing products.
